EcoVista

Background

The Liberty Centre, the go-to shopping destination in Romford, Essex, recently embarked on a project to upgrade its advertising assets.

The owner of the centre, Redical, appointed Limited Space as the media operator to manage advertising within the shopping centre. In turn, Limited Space brought in EcoVista to deliver a high-quality, sustainable solution for the new digital displays. The project called for the installation of a large-format indoor LED display and three double-sided digital 6-sheet displays.

EcoVista, already recognised for its turnkey solutions and commitment to sustainability, was a natural fit for the project. Redical, the property owner, was particularly interested in EcoVista’s ability to deliver a carbon-neutral solution, in line with their corporate commitment to reducing environmental impact.

Solution

EcoVista provided a full turnkey solution for the Liberty Centre, handling everything from design and fabrication to installation and commissioning. The centrepiece of the installation is a high-resolution Absen K V3 Series LED display, measuring 5 metres by 3 metres with a pixel pitch of 3.9 mm, designed for optimal brightness and versatility.

As the first UK installation of Absen’s K3.9 V3 High Bright display, this cutting-edge product integrates advanced energy-saving technology, reducing both energy consumption and running costs. Its ability to perform in high ambient light made it the perfect solution for the Liberty Centre’s retail environment, where maintaining vibrant and clear visuals is crucial for customer engagement.

Complementing the main display are three double-sided 65-inch kiosks equipped with high-grade Samsung QHC displays, the slimmest in Samsung’s UHD Signage line-up. These are housed in EcoVista’s bespoke Vista6ix totem units, designed for durability and efficiency.

Additionally, EcoVista integrated a Bose sound system for enhanced audio experiences and employed its proprietary CarbonTrack platform to provide advanced embodied carbon reporting. The installation was engineered to align with the Liberty Centre’s commitment to sustainability, ensuring a minimal ecological footprint.

Challenges

The project presented a significant technical challenge due to the location of the large-format LED display on a delicate glass façade. EcoVista had to carefully remove and reinstate the glass panels surrounding the display, fixing the LED structure to the steel frame behind the glass without damaging the existing infrastructure. The intricate nature of the installation required precise engineering and expertise to ensure a seamless integration.

Additionally, the kiosks and displays were installed as part of a phased rollout, meaning the project had to be carefully coordinated to meet deadlines while ensuring minimal disruption to the Liberty Centre’s operations.

Result

Upon completion, the Liberty Centre now boasts a state-of-the-art digital advertising system that enhances the shopping experience while adhering to strict environmental standards.

The combination of the Absen LED screen and Samsung-powered kiosks provides a visually striking and dynamic platform for advertisers. The project was completed on time and within the specified sustainability targets, solidifying EcoVista’s reputation as a leader in both technological innovation and carbon accountability.

With the installation of the first LED display at the Liberty Centre, Redical and Limited Space have set a new benchmark for digital advertising in shopping centres. The project underscores the value of EcoVista’s turnkey solutions, which not only deliver cutting-edge technology but also prioritise sustainability, aligning with the growing demand for eco-conscious business practices.
