This week, EcoVista’s Managing Partners, Sean and Dave, embarked on an exciting trip to the Far East. They began at the Annual Congress of the World Out of Home Organization (WOO) in Hong Kong from 5-7 June, then crossed the border to Shenzhen to visit our long-term partners, Absen.
Here are some highlights from our journey!
WOO Annual Congress
The World Out of Home Organization (WOO) is the only global Out of Home Association, dedicated to promoting and improving the OOH industry for its members.
WOO President Tom Goddard kicked things off with an inspiring speech, offering insights into the trends shaping the global media market in 2024 and beyond.
The Congress tackled significant themes affecting OOH, such as the impact of AI, the rising importance of retail media and the evolution of audience measurement. It was especially encouraging to see ‘Sustainability – still the Elephant in the Boardroom‘ prioritised on the agenda.
It was good to see both media operators and display manufacturers embracing this important topic and the work that has been done at product, delivery and operational level to reduce carbon and energy consumption.
As a proud new member, EcoVista are delighted to be part of these crucial sustainability discussions and we are looking forward to collaborating with our fellow members to advance carbon-neutral DOOH solutions in our industry.
Absen Factory Visit
We were thrilled to visit Absen’s Intelligent Manufacturing Centre in Dongjiang, China. The scale and sophistication of their operations left us in awe, with the facility spanning an impressive 108,000 sqm of manufacturing, R&D and warehousing space – that’s over 15 football fields!
Our tour of the manufacturing facility was excellent, with the highlight being their incredible showroom. It offered us a real insight into their processes, product lines and what the future holds. With MicroLED and COB technology at the forefront of their development, we are excited about the new products soon to hit the market.
We have some fantastic Absen displays due to be installed at various locations across the UK in the coming months so it was great to see where and how they are made.
A huge thank you to Libby Xing, DOOH & Sports Account Manager at Absen, for being such an exceptional host. We deeply appreciate your hospitality and look forward to continuing our successful partnership.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey towards sustainable and innovative solutions in the DOOH industry!
